Paleo, work and the thought inbetween

The good news to report is that this recipe was a great success! Both Andy and I enjoyed it immensely. I made some squash fries to go with it and it was the perfect compliment. Andy enjoyed the flavours and the experiment certainly pleased him! (I am quite shy with herbs!)

On the work front, I have some decisions to make soon and thinking about even making them brings me to tears. I don't really leave Belle at the moment - or enjoy the thought of leaving her. I just love having her around and she isn't any trouble. I know I would enjoy time with Andy but her little routine at the moment allows us time/me time to recharge that I don't find myself 'needing' a break.

Doing something creative from home whilst looking after Belle has always been my dream. Now it just comes down to finances. Which is awful.

Diet wise, this transition is going well. Who knows how I would manage it with work too - then it was all about convenience for me. I guess it would just mean being super organised all the time. I feel like with Andy on shift we would see each other less, which I hate the idea of.

I think most women end up in this debate when they have children, before this job offer I felt like I had made my decision. We both know our budget is tight but it could work. I spoke with my Mum and a dear friend about this little blip and I just don't think I can give up seeing Isabelle's firsts, or even give up being the one to teach her. To top it off I have been looking at learning at home and I believe Montessori is more akin to our family beliefs than the way a Nursery would go about things. Gah...... decisions............

Working out

Since this little lady of mine appeared I have been achieving all kinds of goals for myself, around the home, budgeting and getting myself back into shape. Shape I didn't even get married in!

So far, Jillian has been kicking my butt. I am aiming to do the 30 Day shred 3 times a week. So far so good I am up to 2 times, which is progress!

My mum found these problem area mini workout that I have been attempting! Again, I aim for each night before bed. Yet to get there, but I know I will once I have printed the sheet I made myself. Except the printer is right next to nap time in mummy's bed!

Other than that I try to walk as much as possible - cutting our petrol costs and my waist.

Food wise I have been trying Clean eating and Paleo recipes. These help my imagination and have enabled me to 'diet' on budget, my meats aren't grain fed organic but they are what they are. One day I won't worry about money as much.... maybe... but that's not for right now.

I am not really up for sharing before and after photos just because that feels a little too personal for me. However, I have gone from a horrible size to a not so bad size to working on a I am ok here size.

Day 1 - diet

I am not sure if this is something I will be able to keep on top of daily but I really want to make sure I have posts to keep track of and help keep me motivated.

Today is my first day following a total meal replacement diet. I am slightly nervous about sharing all of my thoughts on here because I am sure they will be quite personal. All I know is I have felt for a few months now that I need to find myself again, I have had some big changes the last few years. A lot of them turning out very differently to how I imagined them to be, in good ways just that take a different kind of adjustment.

Another motivating factor is the cost of the diet! I don't wish to disclose it but I definitely know that it will motivate me not wanting to waste money!

Changing my husband and I's habits for the better to instill some kind of positive habits for the future is a sub goal I want to come out of this diet. I want to get rid of the unnecessary problems that come from being overweight.

Obviously the way I look and feel about my body are also quite encouraging and my skinny clothes box in our loft is a very pretty consideration! Just as wearing those clothes and feeling like my 18 year old self will be amazing!!!

How do you cope with dieting? Has anyone done the Lipotrim and has any advice for me?

PCOS Diet day 1

Dieting day 1

Breakfast: Scrambled Eggs
Lunch: Cooked ham and sweet cherry tomatos - 2 good handfuls
Dinner: White fish stir fry
Snack: 8 Brazil nuts, 4 apricots

2L's of water with at least 6 cups of decaf tea!!

Today I have felt quite positive because I feel like I am making a positive change to our future! I know it sounds silly but I really feel good about dieting this time. I am also using the boots laser system to try and tame my other symptom! But its ok, I am working towards how I want to be. If you can't have everything, just have control!!

Dieting with PCOS

I was diagnosed with PCOS about 2 months ago, this is something that I am ok with. At this moment in time I am ok with it.
Mr HB has been an absolute star because he has this mans viewpoint where he is very practical and pragmatic, he tends to bring me down to earth.

So I have started to think about the future and we have been talking quite a lot about what we actually want. We are about to complete on a 4 bedroom house because we know we want children, we know that the house is somewhere we can see ourselves growing our own little family. This got me thinking about how I could help our situation and potentially avoid some of the heartache associated with Poly Cystic Ovary Syndrome.

This has therefore made me look at my weight, I have a BMI of 29 so I am deemed overweight, by about 2 and a half stone. Mr HB and I feel that we probably wont think seriously about starting a family until I have finished studying. I only have a year left but the mister finishes his apprenticeship in two and we know that money will be a lot easier then so it seems to make sense that we wait about 2 years until we start trying.
Which has given me a time scale. I want to loose the weight before we start trying and I know that the doctors will take us more seriously once we are deemed 'healthy'. We will also be older, at the moment we aren't taken seriously very often because getting married at 19 isn't in vogue!!

To sum up the point, I will be posting about my progress and the type of food I will be eating. I will be following the The Harcombe Diet, I did this diet just before christmas and I had lost about half a stone - then christmas kicked in and I lost the plot!!!

My aim is to find dinners we can both enjoy but that are helpful to my waist!!! I am hoping to do some before and pictures but I need to be brave for that. I will also take progress pictures to make sure I remember and stay motivated.
