I dont often read Dainty Squid but boy am I glad I came across this lovely DIY!!

How fun is that?! Who knew it was so simple?

Just studying

Well since my hips are playing up at the moment, all I seem to comfortably be able to do is sit or lay on the sofa.

I am fed up with the telly because apparently day time telly is just not that exciting!

Luckily for Andy I am being a lot more adventurous with our dinners, it just takes me a bit longer because I have to sit down quite often! Last night we had lamb and new potatoes. Andy said I can make it again so it went down well!!

Fortunately I am able to keep on top of my studies so that come May (MAY!!!!) I am done and ready to hand in my final assignment. Which makes me endless amounts of happy. This year is such a big year for me. Who am I kidding, the last 3 year have been huge. I think next year I might take a break!! Yeah right....

Baby Shower: Cake plates?

So I have been thinking about the baby shower that I might have dependent on the weather and family etc. I kind of like the idea of all the women in my life getting together and celebrating my first child! At first I struggled with the idea of being the centre of attention because I am not big on fuss. But then I thought its an excuse to get things done in the garden by setting a date, I quite fancy inviting the men along and having them on the xbox or doing the manly thing!

So what a good little idea these things are!! I think when I am next off shopping in the charity shops I will be seeking different sized pretty plates. It would be lovely to give these as a gift because the metal bits are the expensive bit, the plates I can imagine being relatively cheap really. I think it would be a nice momento of the shower? But then people may not be bakers and I think having a few options might be the best idea!

ebay even have a multi buy deal

Ambition

I have wanted to make my own lip balm for absolutley ages, I have been collecting all the bits and pieces for ages now and don't seem to ever find time.

I am determined that I will do it before I go back to work!

This lip balm recipe looks simple enough, I hope to give this a go and then let you know how I get on!

Spring time view

Back in December Andy and I (mainly Andy) planted some tulips and daffodils to liven up our garden.

This one above is in our front garden and is so far the only one to pop out and flower. Its nice coming home to some colour!

This little plant is on the window sill in the kitchen and has been flowering beautifully for a good few months now.
My Mum took cuttings and I don't think hers have yet :) ....

Lyric wall art

I really love this idea. I have wanted to put our wedding song around our house because I think they just add a really personal touch to a room.

I have wanted to make a photo wall for a long time and between printers, time, college etc life has kind of gotten in the way!!

Now that I have a bit of time to myself I am really hoping I can get on and organise my craft! Our house is lovely and pretty much decorated now it just needs that personal love stamp added!

Skunk boy hair tutorials

How cute are these pin curls?!?!

One day I will be brake enough to try that, I love vintage.

I think I would like to try these rag rolls to make your hair curly too. Especially with the baby - I guess some effort in the evening and then curly hair all day!

Carrot cake cup cakes!

I had a little spare time before Andy got home from work this morning so I had a baking mix in the cupboard and arranged a little carrot cake cup cake bake :)

I did surprise myself by how well they actually came out! I know it was a packet and not real baking but at the moment its all I had the energy to do...

I did bare in mind some of the photography tips I have been reading on a beautiful mess help series and it really makes sense, so I feel like I am making progress!!

Changes

So this will probably make my mum laugh because I am not one for changes, I strive to achieve things in my life and dread but excitedly anticipate the end. I am mostly talking about the academic goals I set for myself way back when that I am about to complete. Its a great feeling, but an odd feeling. In my 22 years I have always had education, so in completing these eagerly anticipated and worked for goal I am afraid of what comes next.

My  relationship with Andy has only become stronger since learning we are expecting our first child together. I am confident in our love and our understanding of each other because we communicate quite well. Most of the time Andy feels like my greatest gift. Our life feels blessed but worked for. Our love feels right and natural. For the first time since I was 18 I feel like I am completely in the right place. Like every decision and choice we have made so far has been for this moment. Its an overwhelming but unforgettable time that feels like its flying by.

By September this year our entire life and relationship will be completely different. Not a little different. Completely. Andy won't be my priority and I wont be his. We have a whole new dynamic to learn now. My next achievement is to be a good mum balanced with a good wife. Luckily I have the rest of my life to figure this one out ....

Arghh working ...

So I totally am not enjoying this working life thing!

My hip is killing me, my ankle hurts from my over compensation in walking!!! I still have college work to do but my oven is clean.

I am really excited for our scan tomorrow, we have already had an 11 week scan because the midwife thought I was further along but little pea wasn't big enough to do the measurements. Tomorrow is when our due date should stick, currently I am counting down to the 11th September.

Andy and I have decided not to find out the gender of our pea because it makes things much more exciting!

The only trouble with working full time, studying and growing a baby is that its very tiring and I can't offload any of it. I am definitely learning to not worry as much and to enjoy each new twinge because its one day closer to our baby.

I cannot describe how content I feel at the moment, I have this peaceful feeling like I am just in the right point of my life. For a long time now, I have known that becoming a SAHM is my goal in life for at least until the kids go to school. I feel very grateful for everything I am involved in at the moment, I do have my moans and groans but actually I am very blessed.

Catch up

Another good intention of mine has completely gone out of the window! I am working on a plan for this little blog of mine at the moment, but university studies have kind of taken over for a little bit. Bring on June!!

We have also been quite busy with a little trip away, rearranging the house and generally trying to keep on top of things!! The trip away has produced another job for me too, Andy's cousin is getting married next year so I have volunteered my crafty nature by making their wedding stationary. I am putting it off until the middle of march really just to give me a goal!

Andy and I have another busy week planned as we are off to see my cousins on Monday, Tuesday we have a 13 week scan and Wednesday is my deadline for my assignment but I am also going out for a carvery with a new friend which I am really looking forward to.

Hopefully I manage to take more pictures because I did not take one the whole time I was away. Which I was quite sad about because there were times I did think about it and I just didn't make myself.
