Mr.Tibbs first day out

We were told to keep the little mister in for at least 6 weeks once we moved into our house, the trouble is he just isn't having any of it. Any time to door opens he is straight out there.

So we thought we would give him a little taste of the garden just so he could pick up the smells and we could encourage him back with a pack of treats.

These were the best of the million pictures I took.... I was a proud muma.

He got a bit too adventurous for our liking, so not long after we pulled him back in!!

Making my own cat toys

With Mr.Tibbs currently licking bald patches on himself I have been doing a lot of research on how to help him feel better.
We have put him into a routine because we think his excessive grooming has something to do with stress and being in a new home. We also were told that he was nervous of other animals, unfortunately the estate we have moved to is an animal haven!!

Therefore for the time being it has been decided that Mr.Tibbs will be an indoor cat. So I am trying to think of ways to entertain him and encourage him to do something other than groom!

I will let you know what i come up with :)

Mr.Tibbs

Our 2 year old little weirdo. We love our little addition..... he took some getting used to don't get me wrong! He was very lonely in the home and has craved all of our attention ever since he moved in 2 weeks ago.

He is just so cute....

Friday nights in our home :)

Well, I think this must be our 4th friday in our own home. My mister plays in the town band and so has practises on a friday. I finish college next thursday so I am revising tonight.

Because I am so super organised .....pfffft ......... I have some washing on, touch up paint drying and I have hoovered the downstairs! A very good evening if you ask me!!

I saw this picture on a blog recently and it has made me think a lot more about when I am eating and what. Whether it is worth it or if I am just bored!! I think I am getting healthier - slowly but surely!!!

Today was also a good day at work, I managed to get an initial stage of a project I am currently working on finished. Which has really made my weekend!

Our first attempt at sausage rolls

Well this wasn't as bad as we thought it might be!!!
Basically my mister likes specific sausages so we thought we would buy some roll out pastry so that we could make our own.

It worked a treat, the only thing we found was that they tasted better fresh - we kept some in the fridge for a couple of days and they just weren't the same.

Peach crumble

So this is a kind of cheating crumble - brought the flour mix and literally poured it on the top of the peaches.
However the crumble will cover probably 4 crumbles (loaf tin) and cost 2 pound.

The peaches were just Tesco value and we about 22p a tin! Bargain desert just as a treat!

Spot the bird treat

I have been saving the fat from our cooking to make some bird treats.... Its great to invite the wildlife into our garden and turn something that we would just through away into something useful.
I picked up a cheap bag of seeds from lidl's and mixed the two together, popped it into the fridge for an hour or so. The I popped it into the feeder and the mister popped it on the shed.
The theory of this position was so that a certain Mr.Tibbs couldn't get to it..... we haven't spotted him eyeing it up just yet.....

Whilst the mister is fishing ... (slate heart tutorial)

So we went fishing again at the weekend, I have started taking photo's to practise my photography skills! On this occasion  I had great fun making slate hearts. Here is a short tutorial explaining what I did - with some mad photography skills chucked in for fun!!

This an example of my skills!

I collected a pile of thin slate that I thought had good potential.

Then I found a big strong stone to beat the slate with, I found that a slightly pointed one worked best for me. However, this does double as a bit of an arm work out depending on how many you make!!

I found that small relatively delicate hits gave me control over shaping the slate.

Shaping the stone was quite difficult at times because the slate was quite brittle and would just fall apart. I think with this activity you have to accept that not all will work and also, its free so you can do as many as you like even with breakages its only your time.....

This was one of my favourites, sometimes you need to accept their imperfections too - like the piece at the top on the right. Personally, I think that is part of its charm! :)

Recap from a previous post

This post follows on from here this will be quite picture heavy as its the scrap I designed for a man who was retiring from the Company I work for.

I enjoyed completing this scrap book because I knew it would mean a lot to the man receiving the book, however, scrap booking for others is not my favourite past time except I loved the thought of something I created being treasured.

I left blank pages so that pictures of the retirement party could be included too.

Our first breakfast

This is really boring for most people, for us, it was momentus and exciting!

The picture is just our tin of biscuits with tea and coffee, it didn't last long and it wasn't as i had planned.... but it was all ours.
I also didn't like how quiet the house was to start with, so I was playing the mister's itunes quite a bit. I think I am getting used to it slowly, with 4 bedrooms this house just screams big family noise. Just not yet.

Moving day!!!

So I know this is a little late (almost 3 weeks... woops) but I thought I would share our moving day pictures. Excuse the mess, after all this is our first house and first time of bringing completely all of our stuff together!!!

We managed to get the lounge pretty much set up as soon as we moved in. But the last picture above is the wall paper we now have... I like it. It goes well with the room and the sofa's!!

We have moved!

We have sucessfully moved into our new home!!!
Its all a bit quiet for the moment as we are waiting for our internet to be delivered, I have taken loads of pictures and started on our moving posts so I will be sure to update this site really soon.

We have also had an addition to our little family..... Mr Tibbs! A 2 year old tabby cat that we rescued from a local animal welfare charity. I have many pictures of him!!!

The lounge and the bedroom are decorated - not tidy but decorated! We seem to be making slow progress..... Its all good though. Still quite strange having our own space.

I have almost finished my research essay which means one more exam and then I will be free for the summer! I have a few plans to fill my time. Craft shop, write a romance novel..... the usual stuff to fit in around work!!
